Wilen Direct is proud to announce its commitment to preserving the Earth and its important resources through the use of green printing materials and techniques. Wilen Direct has been awarded the Forest Stewardship Council’s Chain of Custody certification, the Sustainable Forestry Initiative® certification as well as certification from the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes, making Wilen Direct Triple Certified.

FSC

FOREST STEWARDSHIP COUNCIL (FSC)

FSC is a nonprofit organization devoted to encouraging the responsible management of the Earth`s forests. The council regulates the practices that could harm or displace the homes of people and wildlife, such as illegal and non-sanctioned logging.

  • Chain of Custody certification signifies that the paper Wilen Direct uses comes from companies committed to the use of sanctioned resources that do not endorse illegal logging practices.
  • As an FSC certified provider, Wilen Direct can assure clients that FSC-specified paper is manufactured from trees grown within a designated forest as part of a responsible re-growth program.
  • When Wilen Direct’s clients choose to print on FSC-certified paper, they are welcome to use the FSC and Rainforest Alliance logos on their printed materials.

SUSTAINABLE FORESTRY INITIATIVE® (SFI)

SFI-certified products are produced at paper mills that utilize SFI-certified fibers. Wilen Direct takes part in this initiative in accordance to client`s orders.

  • Located in Florida, Wilen Direct continues to keep the environment in mind when disposing of raw materials and by-products from our manufacturing process. When possible, paper, inks, plates and chemical solutions are recycled with local service providers.
  • All Wilen Direct employees are asked to involve themselves in the “Green” program to insure each person is doing his/her part to preserve the Earth`s resources.

PEFC is an independent, nonprofit, non-governmental organization that focuses on sustainable management of the world’s forests by ensuring that the same high standards of sustainability are applied by all its endorsed certification systems around the globe.
