Job Summary:
The Clamp Truck Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a clamp truck to move, load, unload, and stage large paper rolls, pallets, and other materials within the warehouse and production areas. This role ensures materials are delivered to the correct location to support production schedules and on-time order fulfillment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safely operate a clamp truck to handle paper rolls, pallets, and other materials.
- Load, unload, transport, and stack rolls of paper and finished product with precision and care.
- Inspect equipment daily and report any maintenance or safety issues immediately.
- Follow established safety protocols and company procedures at all times.
- Supply pressroom and finishing areas with rolls, pallets, and stock as scheduled.
- Verify material counts and ensure proper labeling, wrapping, and storage.
- Assist in inventory control by scanning and recording material movements.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas.
- Support warehouse staff with general material handling as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1+ years of experience operating a clamp truck, forklift, or other industrial equipment in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Valid forklift/clamp truck certification (or ability to obtain).
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and load handling.
- Ability to read and interpret job tickets, production orders, and labels.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Frequent sitting, standing, and operating clamp truck equipment.
- Regular lifting, bending, twisting, and reaching.
- Ability to maneuver large paper rolls weighing several hundred pounds with clamp truck.
WORK SCHEDULE:
- Full-time position; weekends, and overtime as required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Warehouse and production floor setting.
- Exposure to noise, dust, and moving machinery.
- Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as designated by company policy.
